Patricia (Paty) Banda

​

Paty has a PhD in Arts and Design from the Faculty of Arts and Design (FAD) of UNAM (2019).

She has been a beneficiary of the Stimulus and Development Program for Artistic Creation of the State of Veracruz in 2006 and 2009, as well as a scholarship holder of the Young Creators program of the National Fund for Culture and the Arts (Fonca), in the generation of 2011- 2012.

Since 2003 she has exhibited individually and collectively in different states of the Mexican Republic, in June 2022 she exhibited individually at the Alianza Francesa the work “Two times on a mirror”.

He has exhibited internationally at the International Forum of Art Photography Paris Photo in 2011 and at Les Rencontres de la photographie d'Arles in 2013, at the Foto VERITAS festival in Costa Rica, in 2015, in addition to the neebeex Gallery in Bogotá, Colombia , in 2016, at the Photo Patagonia festival in 2018, in 2022 in Cusco, Peru at the Diego Quispe Tito National University and at the Eduardo Minnicelli Art Museum, Río Gallegos, Argentina.

Among the publications in which she has collaborated with work and essays are the magazine Cuartoscuro number 78 and number 119, the magazine Metapolítica. volume 13, number 67, in 2009, and volume 15, number 72, in 2011; Ensemble: architecture and design, year 1, number 2; Alchemy magazine, number 48; the newspaper El Financiero and in the cultural newspapers De Largo Aliento (2014) and La Digna Metáfora (2019).

She currently works as an independent photographer, she is a researcher and practitioner of alternative photographic processes at the Panoptic Workshop, she is a member of the National System of Art Creators (2020-2023).
