Arturo Talavera

Arturo was born on January 29, 1963. Since 1991 he has worked as a photojournalist for El Sol de Toluca and El Universal, since 1994 he has collaborated with different national media, likewise, he worked for the agencies EIKON, SIEC, ANGULAR, ICONS and AP. In 1993 he received the State Prize for Journalism of the State of Mexico.

Since 1995 he has exhibited his work in individual and collective exhibitions in various states of the Mexican Republic. Internationally he has exhibited in France, Italy, Costa Rica, Argentina, Peru and Colombia.

In 2000 he was a Fellow of the State Fund for Culture and the Arts of Veracruz. Along with Carlos Jurado, Néstor Andrade and Adolfina Paredes, he founded the Estenopo Group in 2001.

He has taught pinhole film courses and workshops on alternative photographic processes throughout the country and in Latin America.

He currently works as an independent photographer, for more than 20 years he has been a daguerreotypist and researcher of ancient and alternative photographic processes, as well as founder of the Panoptic Workshop.
